ICDDD: A Success Measure

ICDDD has been a great success both in its conduct and impact. Being the first ever held conference of this caliber in the region, ICDDD has proved to be a good beginning, which will have far reaching impact on Drug Design and Discovery. At the same time it has been a great success with its smooth conduct, wide range of subjects covered, participation of large number of delegates, fruitful deliberations and immense response of the participants towards discovering Drug Design and Dubai together.

Conclusion

The Success of the 1st ICDDD is in keeping with the vision and mission of the organizers, who had envisioned of it as being a good beginning as the first mega event in the region on the subject of Drug Design and Discovery. As the Chairman, Dr. Ernst in his welcome note said;

The conference will host leading scientists and Nobel laureates from academia and industry worldwide, to discuss the latest developments in drug design and discovery. The conference aims to provide many interesting perspectives on how the science and technology of drug discovery is changing and will continue to change in the modern era.

The conference came up as the living example of this message and it has set up stage for success of conferences coming up in the series.

Reasons to attend..
"The anti-cancer section of the ICDDD will be devoted to a wide-ranging look at various modalities and approaches to cancer treatment and drug discovery. Open discussion, exchange of critical ideas, and face-to-face communication will be encouraged at all levels".

Michael J. Waring
Professor
Department of Pharmacology
University of Cambridge, UK

"A great opportunity to learn more about the present and the future of Medicinal Chemistry"

Patrice Talaga
Associate Director
Discovery Technologies
Global Chemistry, R&D UCB, Belgium

"Drug discovery is changing rapidly with the advent of new technology in chemistry and a "revolution" in molecular medicine, in particular regarding our molecular and genetic understanding of diseases. ICDDD 2008, therefore could not be more timely, pointing the directions into the future."

Peter E. Nielsen
Professor
The Panum Institute
University of Copenhagen, Denmark

"The discovery and development of new biomarkers is a very active and rapidly evolving field. The ICDDD will provide an opportunity to bring together not only biomarker experts, but also scientists defining emerging drug targets. We expect that bringing together experts from both fields at the same time will result in a very fruitful and exciting session!"
